Thanks
to everyone who attended the Welcome Brunch. We had a great turnout and
met lots of new members. I remember my first brunch two years ago and
the joy and relief of meeting people in a
similar situation. I hope all new members find the support and
friendship that I have. And thank you to our brunch co-chairs Shireen Taintor and Kristi Holmberg. They did a superb job
putting all the details together.

The clubs that will need new chairs are listed below:
- Childcare Coordinator
- PIM Housing and Website
- Janelle Rose has done an amazing job with the PIM
housing site and website. Her term ends in February, so we are starting
the search for her replacement early. The website is the main source of
our club income and it's vitally important to the continuation of PIM.
We are in the process of updating the site to be more user friendly, so
now is the perfect time to jump on board. No web experience necessary.
If you are interested in this position, please contact Anna.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with our organization and also a great way to meet other members.
Our housing website is in need of a major overhaul. We are working on getting bids for the work, but we need some help deciding what product to use. If you know anyone who is web savvy and would be willing to give us some free advice, we would be thrilled. We want to make sure we spend our money wisely on great software that will last many years. We also need PIM members to help serve on an ad hock committee to help review the bids. If you have interest, please email Janelle Rose.

Still looking for a place to live in SLC? Our Housing Committee is here to help. The PIM link to our Housing Website provides information regarding rental properties, homes for sale, and real estate agents.

Utah First!!
The 4th Annual UMEC Physician Job Fair is being held on Wednesday, September 8th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Varsity Room (4th Floor) of the Rice Eccles Stadium Tower on the University of Utah campus.
This fair is open to all Residents/Fellows and their spouses/significant others. A kids’ corner is provided for your convenience and is staffed with experienced and reliable day-care providers. Hors d’oeuvres are available, and so are great practice opportunities in Utah! And all this is FREE! Utah Job Opportunities, Career Know-How, Hors d’oeuvres, Child Care and Door Prizes all for Free, NO CATCH!!
The Utah Medical Education Council is a non-profit quasi-state agency, established with the goal of promoting healthcare workforce planning, production, and policy in Utah. Utah imports 75% of its physician workforce from other states despite its renowned training facilities for physicians. We would like to encourage Utah trained physicians to stay in Utah. Utah First!
This fair is our chance to present the various opportunities available in Utah to our future Physicians. Our job fair is not limited to practice/job prospects (visit our Job Board, www.utahmec.org, for currently available positions). We also invite experts on available loan reimbursement opportunities and rural rotation choices available to the doctors being trained in Utah.
We only ask for you to encourage and accompany your spouse/significant other to come see what is available in Utah for them and what they can do for Utah. Register for the event now at www.utahmec.org or at the door. Show up on September 8th with your spouse/significant other, look at the available Utah opportunities, network with people, collect some door prizes, have a light dinner, and walk out without any further obligations.
For further questions and concerns, please feel free to contact Sri Koduri, at 801-526-4567, or skoduri@utah.gov.
BABYSITTING UPDATEPlease remember that PIM sponsors babysitting for certain events. From now on the club description will say if babysitting is available. If there is not sitting available for an event you would like to attend, email and see if someone would like to split sitting with you. The cost for a PIM sponsored event is $5 per child no matter how long the event goes on for. We are also having the parents fill out a waiver and info form during drop off. Please bring a photo of your child and your doctor’s address and phone number. This will help us identify each child to our sitters and keep everyone safe.
Please contact Anna for more info.
