There are two basic
reasons to join Partners in Medicine
(PIM): What we can do for you and What you can do for us.
What we can do for you
Every one knows that there are difficulties associated with marriage,
otherwise you would not say "for better or for worse." There are
also numerous trials associated with being a Resident/Fellow
Physician. It is therefore no surprise that obstacles uniquely
associated with being the partner of a Resident Physician exist. As
spouses we must learn to deal with the amount of time residents
spend in the hospital and away from family all while in a new city
far from friends, relatives and even our own jobs. PIM is here to
assist you with these difficulties. PIM works to address the everyday
challenges in these ways:
What you can do for us
Every year a large group of PIM members finish their
Residency/Fellowship years and move out of Salt Lake City. In
order for the group to continue, we need new members each year. Is
there a particular type of person we are looking for to join? The
answer is NO. We want every resident and any significant others to
join despite where you are from, your religion or your politics. We
are looking for partners
with and without children, working and
non-working spouses, and most of all husbands and wives. If you
have any reservations about attending a PIM event, please ignore
them and give us a chance. If you find the training years easy, you
would make an excellent PIM member; join us and give us hope and
maybe a pointer or two. If you find these years trying, you would
make an excellent PIM member; join us and learn some survival tips
or create your own solutions and help those who come after you!! To
paraphrase Jerry McGuire, "help us, help you, help us, help you."

- We reach out to all
spouses in hopes that you will find life in
Salt Lake memorable.
- We can help with moves,
new babies, children and
